Refund & cancellation.

Last updated: April 28, 2026. This policy applies to all flatbooks subscriptions.

14-day money-back guarantee

If you're not satisfied with flatbooks within 14 days of your first payment, we'll refund the full amount. No questions asked. To request a refund, email support@flatbooks.iowith the subject line "Refund request" and the email address on your account. Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days back to the original payment method.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time. Two ways:

  1. From your account: Settings → Subscription → Cancel.
  2. Email support@flatbooks.io with subject "Cancel subscription."

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You'll keep full access until that date. We don't auto-renew a cancelled subscription.

Pro-rata refunds (annual plans)

If you're on annual billing and cancel before the end of the year, we'll refund the unused months pro-rata. For example, if you paid $990 for an annual Founders plan and cancel after 4 months, you'll receive a refund of $660 (8 unused months × $82.50/mo prorated). Pro-rata refunds are processed within 5–10 business days back to the original payment method.

Monthly plans after the 14-day window

After the 14-day money-back window, monthly subscriptions are non-refundable for the current billing period. You can cancel to prevent future charges, and you keep access through the end of the period you've already paid for.

Data after cancellation

Your data remains exportable for 30 days after cancellation. During that window you can download your full transaction history and your CPA-export Excel file. After 30 days, all data is permanently deleted from our production systems and rolling backups. Deletion is irreversible.

Service interruption

If you experience a verified service interruption longer than 24 hours, contact support and we'll credit your account pro-rata for the outage time. Credits apply to your next billing cycle. Force-majeure events (upstream provider outages, internet routing failures) follow the same policy.

Disputed charges

Before initiating a chargeback with your card issuer, please contact support@flatbooks.io — we resolve almost every billing question within one business day, often without needing a formal refund. Chargebacks initiated without first contacting us may delay your refund and incur additional bank fees that we cannot waive.
